How can i get my ipod to work again?

hey i dropped my ipod 1st gen in the bath the other day but it was in the water for the best of a second. I dried it and tried to use it but the brightness kept goin up and down. i managed to erase my data before I tried to turn it on and off but from then on it hasnt done anything. I cant turn it on and itunes wont read that its there. Ive left it on the boiler for a few days and still nothing....help i miss my ipod :(
