First of all, anyone who says "group winners" should not be making any kind of comment about the NFL or football. We all know (or at least we should know) the term is called "divisional winners". Secondly, how would that work if there were no playoffs? Carlson is just another example of a sports yst that is paid to talk about nothing relevant. The playoff scenarios are find just the way they are. Wild cards actually make the game more interesting because it gives all of the fans something to look forward to. Think about it. How did we know that the Packers would go all of the way to the super bowl and win? They were the underdogs the entire season. If you eliminate wild cards then you eliminate a great reason to watch football, and that is to see an unknown or underdog team win it all or come close. Once again, this is just another meaningless distraction.
